Who we are
We’re a community group with members drawn from Newton on the Moor, Swarland, Hazon, Hartlaw and surrounding areas. As well as local residents, we also have representatives from the Parish Council, Vyner Park, Swarland Primary School and Swarland Village Action.

While we’re largely based on the parish of Swarland and Newton on the Moor, we also welcome people from neighbouring areas.
We want to work closely with Northumberland County Council’s Climate Team and with other local groups to share knowledge and experience.
Our objectives
We believe that it’s important to focus on tackling climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions – AND protecting and enhancing biodiversity.
Over the next few months we will be delivering a number of projects. These include campaigning for better public transport, increasing options for recycling, improving our footpaths and bridleways, and tree planting.
We also want to raise awareness about climate change and biodiversity and encourage everyone to get involved.
