Who we are
We’re a local community group with members including residents and other interested parties from in and around the parish of Newton on the Moor and Swarland. We act under the auspices of, but at arms length from, the Parish Council. Our focus is on climate and environmental issues.

Our objectives are to:
- Raise awareness of climate, environmental and sustainability issues within the parish and encourage members of the community to get involved;
- Identify and deliver projects within the parish which contribute to reducing greenhouse gases, improving the environment and increasing sustainability;
- Work with the Parish Council to deliver the PC’s Carbon Reduction Action Plan;
- Liaise with and support other local groups who are involved in similar aims.
We believe that it’s important to focus on tackling climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing biodiversity and promoting sustainability.
We also want to raise awareness about climate change and biodiversity and encourage everyone to get involved.
